BRMCC PONY EXPRESS NEWS LETTER
Greetings to all BRMCC club members for 2005 !
We are pleased to report that the 2004 Pony Express Events, which was conducted over a series of 4 rounds has been considered to be a complete success, and as a result is continuing to grow in popularity and participant numbers.
Thankyou to all of you that worked so hard to make our Pony Express Series a success. In particular the committee, club, family members and volunteers who continue to promote, organise and support this series on an ongoing basis.
In the past it has been necessary to obtain the assistance of volunteers to carry out event day duties such as lap scoring, this remains unchanged therefore we are eager to hear from any one who is willing to volunteer their services to assist at each round.
Be advised that without volunteers we are unable to proceed with these events so any one who is willing to assist (such as with lap scoring) are encouraged to call Mr David West on mobile number 0418 344 698 to nominate their assistance as soon as possible.
A broader participation in general is a must, especially with setting up each venue and clearing the site of our equipment at the conclusion of each event, understand that it is every one’s responsibility prior to and at the conclusion of each round.
In 2005 the series will consist of 5 rounds, providing you all with an extra day of fantastic riding. I am sure all will welcome this.
A schedule of dates and venues has been established by the committee and is listed as
follows: Date Venue
Round 1 May 22nd Napoleons
Round 2 June 12th Avoca

right.

Grading is complete for all individuals who participated in the 2004 Pony Express Series. Riders selected to move to a higher class are as follows:
Novice’s regraded to Clubman class:
Clubman regraded to Expert class:
Congratulations to all those participants elevated. Be advised the Grading's are Rider Based not Team Based, so each individual that has been regraded may not enter in a lesser class regardless of their other team member grading. Therefore a Novice rider teaming up with a Clubman rider takes on the higher-class status not visa versa.
Two documented Grading System Rules GS1 & GS2 have been adopted by the BRMCC Pony Express committee to create a fair and just grading system . It will be applicable to all appropriate participants without variation.
Each individual (as part of a team) that establishes a compounded point score of 50 points or, a score greater than 50 points in a season
(IE: 10 points per round 5 X 10 = 50) is regraded to the next available class at the conclusion of the session. * Special Note* a 4 round Series = 40 points.
Also any team that has obtained 13 points or greater at any individual round during the series is also regraded to the next available class.
Each Individual (as part of a team) that places in front of any Individual (as part of a team) placing 1 – 5 in a higher Grade or Class, is automatically regraded to the higher Grade or Class.
Example: This means that a Novice team that places in front of a fifth placed Clubman team will be automatically be given Clubman Grading and status, this team accepts the points and position obtained in the higher class and forfeits any points or placing’s obtained in the lesser class.
Placement in relation to a higher class is determined once the round is concluded and the results and adjusted times have been calculated.
a) There must be a minium of 6 riders entered into the higher glass.
b) That Grading System Rule may only be applied at the first round that the Individual (as part of a team) enters per series, it is not applicable again unless the individual changes partners at which time the GS2 will apply again.
c) The committee will consider the validity of elevated placing’s obtained through DNF or Mechanical Failure or Delays experienced by the 1 – 5 higher-class place getters.
All Grading’s are permanent whilst the Individual continues to compete in Pony Express Events and will remain in place for 5 years from the last event that they finally compete in.
On or after a 5 year absence period an individual (as part of a team) may enter in a lesser class than previously graded but only may regress 1 class lower than their last grading.
They will always be subject to GS2 and its conditions.
In any case GS1 continues to apply to all individuals (as part of a team) regardless.
We look forward to seeing you all at the first round at Napoleons on May 22nd, and to a season where you and your family members can come and be part of the 2005 Pony Express Series, be you a participant in the event or a family member.
Don’t forget when every thing is going pear shape and you need a boost
